Our quarry, located in Luserna San Giovanni, is part of a basin of approximately 50 km² that extends across the Cottian Alps.
The quarry represents the beating heart of the company, as it is from there that the blocks are extracted that we then work in our laboratory.
The extraction process begins with the identification of the bank to be detached from the quarry face. Once identified, drilling is carried out using high-tech hydraulic machines. Subsequently, the detonating fuse, used to cut the material, and the black powder, which is used to move the material from the rock face, are inserted into the holes.
The next phase involves a careful analysis of the bench, during which any defects or differences in the type of stone are identified. After this analysis, the stone is sectioned into blocks and divided into various categories (cliff, split and sawn). The blocks thus obtained can then be transported to the laboratory and destined for the various types of processing.
